How does it work(some technical stuff!) –
Basically, the active ingredients in Vitalink Chill(Betaines) are sourced from liquid seaweed extracts that stabilise enzyme functions, improve water retention in the plant cells and crucially suppress the response by plants to stop producing growth hormones at high stress temperatures.
So in a nutshell, the Betaines in Vitalink Chill ensure that the plant stomata(which control transpiration rates) do not close as often, under high temperatures. This means the plant’s normal nutrient uptake is dramatically reduced by lower transpiration rates and therefore the plants are able to handle high temperature/stress environments more readily.
You should NOT use Vitalink Chill with Vitalink Heat as they deal with opposite ends of temperature stress in plants, so choose the product that best suits your plants’ needs.
